WE’RE BACK! New from FAMILIES

FAMILIES programs and services are back with many online and virtual options to keep you safe while delivering education and support for you and your Loved One.

We’re excited to offer 14 workshops in 2020 through Google Classroom, providing helpful tools and information. They’re available to anyone in B.C.’s Northern Interior. Our FAMILIES Educators are also providing a wide variety of online education and group supports throughout the region, as well as in-person walk ‘n talks and telephone support.

FAMILIES Alliance on Mental Illness

FAMILIES reduces barriers to mental health &/or addiction treatment for a loved one through peer family support, education, systems navigation and advocacy in Prince George and B.C. Northern Interior communities. We offer professional training, participation in planning, and evaluation of services and families as partners in treatment. FAMILIES was trademarked in 2013.

Family linking arms together in a show of support like the work that FAMILIES of Prince George & Northern Interior provide for the loved ones of persons with a mental illness and/or addiction.

Peer Supporter Training

Have you supported a Loved One with a mental illness and/or addiction? Peer Supporter Training teaches you skills so you have the tools to know what to do. There are levels of knowledge to help mentor others. FAMILIES is a non-profit society providing this training at no cost.

Check out Puppet Play & Puppet Talk for grades 1 to 6, which helps explain mental illness. Kids In Control is also an educational support group for children ages 8 to 12 who have a parent or sibling living with a mental illness.
